How appropriate and right on schedule that THEIA decided to have their Resort 2012 presentation today. It's the first day of summer and the collection is called The Summer Solistice. Don O'Neil, Creative Director for the label was on hand explaining in detail about the collection and the inspiration behind it. The inspiration was based on the Greek mythology of Helios, who would ride in a golden chariot from the beneath the sea across the sky. So for Resort Don based many of his gowns on the color and movement of the ocean. The fabrics he sourced for the collection were from Milan where the fabric designer manipulated and engineered it to appear iridescent or two colors at the same time. Asides from the sequin dresses were gowns in soft prints and stretch taffeta in a shades of orchid. (see below)
